Illimar Sulg showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Zlatan Videlov, who was totally free with the ball in the 19th minute. Illimar Sulg made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Zlatan Videlov in the 21st minute of play. Illimar Sulg made an important save on a dangerous shot by Zlatan Videlov in the 23rd minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Rauno Haab got free with Illimar Sulg in the 25th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Lennart Laev showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Robert Ojamäe, who was totally free with the ball in the 29th minute. In the 48th minute Zlatan Videlov shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Illimar Sulg saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Robi Rebane's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Lennart Laev read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 74th minute of play. Ailar Aal kicked well hit freekick during the 75th minute of the match. FC Hugo's Illimar Sulg played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Janno Trump in the 94th minute of play. 94 minutes into the match, Janno Trump notched a goal, 3-2, to the right of FC Hugo's Illimar Sulg. Illimar Sulg was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it.
