The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Manos Karelas showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Vassilis Stratidis in the 4th minute of the match. Miltos Theriaklis recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 5th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Manos Karelas showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Thanasis Tsipas, who was totally free with the ball in the 6th minute. 20 minutes into the match, Go Ahead Eagles's goalkeeper Themistoklis Charalambakis had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Nontas Markas. After a rather tough play, Cyprus Eagles AFC's Markos Chatzinathanail got a free kick in the 21st minute. Stamatis Lakerdas kicked well hit freekick during the 24th minute of the match. 29 minutes into the match, Cyprus Eagles AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Thanasis Tsipas came free, but Manos Karelas reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Themistoklis Charalambakis made a fantastic save in the 38th minute, when Nikos Pathekas sent off a good shot on target. In the 45th minute Thanasis Tsipas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Manos Karelas saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Themistoklis Charalambakis showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nikos Pathekas in the 48th minute of the match. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The wind increased when Nikos Pathekas made the kick off in the second half. After having played for 52 minutes, Nikos Pathekas managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Cyprus Eagles AFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Nikos Pathekas was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 57th minute, Nikos Pathekas hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 62 minutes into the match, Cyprus Eagles AFC's goalkeeper Manos Karelas had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Miltos Theriaklis. When Markos Chatzinathanail fell near the penalty area in the 67th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Cyprus Eagles AFC's protests and gave Markos Chatzinathanail a yellow card for diving instead. After some careless play in the Go Ahead Eagles defense, Konstantinos Ikonomopoulos kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Themistoklis Charalambakis. The Go Ahead Eagles fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Themistoklis Charalambakis should have stopped the shot. A hard shot 75 in the game by Vassilis Stratidis from a close distance when the talented Manos Karelas managed to make a qualified save. Cyprus Eagles AFC's players were relieved. In the 76th minute Go Ahead Eagles were awarded a corner. Stelios Panagiotidis went to the cornerflag to take it. 77 minutes into the game, Miltiadis Egomitis was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Go Ahead Eagles's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Cyprus Eagles AFC the free kick. Miltiadis Egomitis hit a great freekick 78 minutes into the match. With 83 minutes on the clock, Stelios Panagiotidis commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. 87 minutes into the match, Go Ahead Eagles's goal looked a bit too open when Orestis Kostaras came free, but Themistoklis Charalambakis reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A collision led to Go Ahead Eagles getting a freekick after 94 minutes play. Giorgos Tsartas hit a great ball.
