Cesare Simone took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lamine Valente, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 20 minutes had been played when some careless play by Sorci Viola's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Bixente Colson was slow to take the kick. During this time Elegance Dijon's players had a chance to rest. The corner ended in Bixente Colson almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Sorci Viola's Cesare Simone did a great save. In the 22nd minute Yann Guillemin shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cesare Simone saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 24 minutes into the match, Sorci Viola's goal looked a bit too open when Mathieu Gaud came free, but Cesare Simone reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Elegance Dijon's Omer Grosse played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Beppe Zoff in the 27th minute of play. The corner led Elegance Dijon's Bixente Colson to fire away a dangerous shot which Cesare Simone despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. 37 minutes into the match, Sorci Viola's goal looked a bit too open when Lamine Valente came free, but Cesare Simone reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience was convinced that Yann Guillemin's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Cesare Simone was relentless in the 38th minute of the game. 39 minutes into the match, Sorci Viola's goal looked a bit too open when Yann Guillemin came free, but Cesare Simone reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jordan Lachenal kicked well hit freekick during the 46th minute of the match. When Beppe Zoff came up free with the goalie in the 47th minute, the Sorci Viola fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Beppe Zoff couldn't finish the play. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Flavio Scatena stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 53rd minute, Amerigo Toninelli had to be helped off the field due to a pulled leg muscle. 54 minutes into the game, Bilal Jullien was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Elegance Dijon's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Sorci Viola the free kick. After a rather tough play, Elegance Dijon's Bilal Jullien got a free kick in the 55th minute. Felice Tozzi kicked well hit freekick during the 56th minute of the match. Omer Grosse showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Flavio Scatena, who was totally free with the ball in the 62nd minute. The crowd rose to their feet as Yann Guillemin kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Cesare Simone. That made the score 0-3 in the 63 minute of play. During the 65th minute of the match Bilal Jullien completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Bilal Jullien a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. Franco Bosso hit a great freekick 70 minutes into the match. In the 71st minute the ball was on its way in behind Sorci Viola's goalkeeper Cesare Simone, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Yann Guillemin fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 75th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cesare Simone having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Elegance Dijon's Jordan Lachenal got a free kick in the 79th minute. Cesare Simone showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mathieu Gaud in the 81st minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Beppe Zoff in the 83rd minute of play forced Elegance Dijon's goalkeeper Omer Grosse to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Omer Grosse showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Elia Vaiani, who was totally free with the ball in the 92nd minute. Elegance Dijon's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
