Seraċini Għawdxin's Clayton Gerada played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Karim Bellarabi in the 2nd minute of play. Qian Zheng Yi showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Bjorn Cuschieri in the 3rd minute of the match. 6 minutes into the match, Seraċini Għawdxin's goalkeeper Clayton Gerada had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Victor Testu. Bjorn Cuschieri's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Qian Zheng Yi read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 10th minute of play. Clayton Gerada made a fantastic save in the 14th minute, when Karim Bellarabi sent off a good shot on target. After 15 played minutes Herblay got a freekick which was hit by Antoni Peykov. The audience was convinced that Shawn Seracino Inglott's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Qian Zheng Yi was relentless in the 18th minute of the game. Bjorn Cuschieri scored 0-1 in the 32nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Qian Zheng Yi, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 39th minute, Dejan Attard hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Clayton Gerada showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Karim Bellarabi in the 40th minute of the match. Shawn Seracino Inglott received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 42nd minute. Qian Zheng Yi tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 45th match minute, Seraċini Għawdxin was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Victor Monreal to maneuver through the defense. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Bjorn Cuschieri to make the kick off. The supporters of Herblay booed when Seraċini Għawdxin was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 88 match minutes in a wonderful position. Victor Monreal didn't get a good kick on the ball. 89 minutes into the match, Karim Bellarabi had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Clayton Gerada.
