Gigi Contra charged in rather forcefully in the 3rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Gigi Contra the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Gigi Contra hit a great freekick 3 minutes into the match. Gong Ying Zheng made an important save on a dangerous shot by Jonas Fydrich in the 4th minute. Gigi Contra kicked well hit freekick during the 6th minute of the match. Gong Ying Zheng made a fantastic save in the 10th minute, when Jonas Fydrich sent off a good shot on target. 12 minutes into the match, VC zoetwater's goal looked a bit too open when Tim-Florian Ramusch came free, but Gong Ying Zheng reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 14th minute, Mario Moser hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Thorsten Ternes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gusztáv Bács, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience was convinced that Bernardo Sharkin's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Thorsten Ternes was relentless in the 22nd minute of the game. 24 minutes into the game, Tim-Florian Ramusch was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. International Thunders's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave VC zoetwater the free kick. The supporters of VC zoetwater booed when International Thunders was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 24 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tim-Florian Ramusch didn't get a good kick on the ball. International Thunders's attentive Gernot Kellner managed to snatch the ball when Gigi Contra made a throw-in in the 26th minute of the game. Thorsten Ternes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gusztáv Bács, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 28 minutes of play VC zoetwater's Gigi Contra was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. The supporters of International Thunders booed when VC zoetwater was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 29 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gigi Contra didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 30th minute Björn Hainl shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gong Ying Zheng saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 31st minute International Thunders were awarded a corner. Tim-Florian Ramusch went to the cornerflag to take it. Tim-Florian Ramusch could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 33rd minute of the match, but Gong Ying Zheng made a huge save. Tim-Florian Ramusch received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 35th minute. Gong Ying Zheng tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 38 played minutes VC zoetwater got a freekick which was hit by Laurent Gyselinckx. A collision led to VC zoetwater getting a freekick after 41 minutes play. Patrik Olsson hit a great ball. In the 46th minute, Tim-Florian Ramusch reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Gong Ying Zheng. The goal made the score 2-0. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

With a little luck, International Thunders's Thorsten Ternes got control of the ball when Ive Volckaerts tried to sneak it across the goal line. Mario Moser got his second yellow card in the match during the 58th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. Mario Moser hit a great freekick 58 minutes into the match. Patrik Olsson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 60th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 67th minute VC zoetwater were awarded a corner. Ive Volckaerts went to the cornerflag to take it. In the 71st minute Jonas Fydrich shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gong Ying Zheng saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 71 minutes into the match, VC zoetwater's goal looked a bit too open when Jonas Fydrich came free, but Gong Ying Zheng reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Patrik Olsson recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 73rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The audience was convinced that Ive Volckaerts's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Thorsten Ternes was relentless in the 76th minute of the game. The VC zoetwater fans' excitement grew in the 76th match minute when VC zoetwater's Ive Volckaerts looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 2-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. International Thunders's Niclas Schöttel was substituted for Marc-Joel Teucke. Patrik Olsson struck a weak shot in the 81st minute. Thorsten Ternes didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for VC zoetwater. Thorsten Ternes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gusztáv Bács in the 84th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tim-Florian Ramusch in the 86th minute of play forced VC zoetwater's goalkeeper Gong Ying Zheng to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 87th minute, Patrik Olsson managed to get in a good position for a shot. VC zoetwater's supporters rose to their feet, but Patrik Olsson was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Thorsten Ternes breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Gusztáv Bács kicked well hit freekick during the 91st minute of the match. Ive Volckaerts took the ball and in the 95 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Thorsten Ternes. Thorsten Ternes dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-3. VC zoetwater's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
