In the 8th minute Martin Fossum shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Maraman Reitsma saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 9 minutes Ágætis Byrjun's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Rick Haremeijer who took care of the corner kick. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Feddo Reitsma in the 14th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Filip Garaj saved AFK Petržalka from getting behind. Maraman Reitsma made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Martin Fossum in the 15th minute of play. AFK Petržalka's Filip Garaj proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 17th minute of the match, managed to save AFK Petržalka from getting a goal against them. 19 minutes into the match, Feddo Reitsma dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Filip Garaj, 1-1. Ágætis Byrjun's Gido van Zaanen managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Daniel Zdanowicz in the 23 minute of the game. 26 minutes into the match, Ágætis Byrjun's goal looked a bit too open when Rick Haremeijer came free, but Maraman Reitsma reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 32nd minute Feddo Reitsma shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Filip Garaj saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Eärendil Carabajal kicked well hit freekick during the 35th minute of the match. Elsevär Reitsma scored 2-1 in the 37th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Filip Garaj, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 41st match minute, AFK Petržalka was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dávid Hancko to maneuver through the defense. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-1.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Elsevär Reitsma to make the kick off. The tension between the AFK Petržalka and the Ágætis Byrjun players grew even worse after the yellow card. The audience thought a goal was coming when Martin Fossum got free with Maraman Reitsma in the 61st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Laurens Reitsma kicked well hit freekick during the 88th minute of the match. Nikola Krstović's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Maraman Reitsma read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 89th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Nikola Krstović got free with Maraman Reitsma in the 90th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Maraman Reitsma made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nikola Krstović in the 94th minute of play. For all the effort they put into the match, the AFK Petržalka players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Ágætis Byrjun.
