Denílson Catarinense showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Staffan Nyberg in the 3rd minute of the match. João Pedro Silva scored 1-0 in the 7th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Denílson Catarinense, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Denílson Catarinense came out of the goal in the 11th minute to try and stop a shot by Canastro FC's João Pedro Silva. But to his dismay, João Pedro Silva quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. In the 20th play minute Valter Abreu came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Denílson Catarinense. 4-0. Denílson Catarinense showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Staffan Nyberg, who was totally free with the ball in the 24th minute. In the 25th minute, Canastro FC's João Pedro Silva dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 5-0. João Pedro Silva sent away a hard shot on goal in the 28th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Denílson Catarinense took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from João Pedro Silva, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The crowd rose to their feet as Canastro FC's Zbyszko Cupial slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Denílson Catarinense. That made the score 6-0 after 31 minutes of play. Staffan Nyberg could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 36th minute of the match, but Denílson Catarinense made a huge save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Valter Abreu in the 38th minute of play forced Karavela's goalkeeper Denílson Catarinense to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 42nd minute, João Pedro Silva made a precise shot to the right of Denílson Catarinense. Karavela's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 7-0. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 7-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Denílson Catarinense was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The Karavela fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Denílson Catarinense should have stopped the shot. 58 minutes into the game, Canastro FC's Zbyszko Cupial nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Denílson Catarinense made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 10-0. Karavela's Denílson Catarinense played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by João Pedro Silva in the 67th minute of play.
