Yuri Quirino made a fantastic save in the 14th minute, when Deivid Montenegro sent off a good shot on target. The audience was convinced that Armando Prestes's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Yuri Quirino was relentless in the 22nd minute of the game. The referee ignored Joinville Esporte Clube's protests and gave Gilmar Velloso a yellow card for diving instead. In the 33rd match minute, Joinville Esporte Clube was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gilmar Velloso to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Horácio Gonçalves in the 39th minute of play forced Joinville Esporte Clube's goalkeeper Eriberto Leão to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Sandro Maciel could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 60th minute of the match, but Eriberto Leão made a huge save. In the 69th minute, Fellipe Seco hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Sandro Maciel in the 71st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Eriberto Leão saved Joinville Esporte Clube from getting behind. Yuri Quirino showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Armando Prestes in the 76th minute of the match. 79 minutes into the game, Joinville Esporte Clube's Deivid Montenegro nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Yuri Quirino made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. After a rather tough play, Joinville Esporte Clube's Nelson Eger got a free kick in the 82nd minute. Joinville Esporte Clube's Eriberto Leão played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Timeteo Pinto in the 83rd minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Deivid Montenegro in the 84th minute of play forced Al-Fajuth's goalkeeper Yuri Quirino to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 89th minute, Sandro Maciel managed to get in a good position for a shot. Al-Fajuth's supporters rose to their feet, but Sandro Maciel was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Eriberto Leão breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Neither set of supporters seemed pleased with the draw, but both teams had played equally well today.
