Geovânio Veloso was left in no man's land by his defense there! After a defensive mix-up in ELO CRF's zone, Hortêncio Fontes stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Geovânio Veloso came out of the goal and Hortêncio Fontes tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. ELO CRF's Geovânio Veloso played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Manfredo Cabral in the 14th minute of play. Geovânio Veloso showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Hortêncio Fontes in the 23rd minute of the match. ELO CRF's Geovânio Veloso played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Manfredo Cabral in the 26th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Manfredo Cabral in the 29th minute of play forced ELO CRF's goalkeeper Geovânio Veloso to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 33 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for ELO CRF! Manfredo Cabral received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 42nd minute. Geovânio Veloso tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Hortêncio Fontes scored 0-4 in the 45th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Geovânio Veloso, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The ELO CRF players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Cruzeiro MZC -DMZ- were winning 0-4.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Simão Ortiz to strike the kick off in the second half. Geovânio Veloso showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hortêncio Fontes, who was totally free with the ball in the 52nd minute. In the 53rd match minute, ELO CRF was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gilson Pernambucano to maneuver through the defense. Geovânio Veloso made an important save on a dangerous shot by Manfredo Cabral in the 55th minute. Manfredo Cabral could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 56th minute of the match, but Geovânio Veloso made a huge save. Geovânio Veloso stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Hortêncio Fontes's shot from short distance in the 58th minute. In the 62nd minute, Manfredo Cabral got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Hortêncio Fontes in the 67th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Geovânio Veloso prevented the ball from getting in the gole. With his leg Geovânio Veloso managed to avoid a goal in the 68thth minute, when Cruzeiro MZC -DMZ-'s Manfredo Cabral fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. In the 70th minute, Wanderson Cruz hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Aílton Vaz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Inácio Queirós, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Aílton Vaz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Simão Ortiz in the 76th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in ELO CRF's zone, Manfredo Cabral stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Geovânio Veloso came out of the goal and Manfredo Cabral tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. With an all-out effort, Cruzeiro MZC -DMZ-'s Geovânio Veloso threw himself towards the right post 78 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Hortêncio Fontes, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. The supporters of ELO CRF booed when Cruzeiro MZC -DMZ- was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 85 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tostão Pernambucano didn't get a good kick on the ball. A collision led to ELO CRF getting a freekick after 88 minutes play. Noel de Lima hit a great ball. After some careless play in the ELO CRF defense, Hortêncio Fontes kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Geovânio Veloso. The ELO CRF fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Geovânio Veloso should have stopped the shot. After having played for 93 minutes, Simão Ortiz managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. ELO CRF's supporters crossed their fingers, but Simão Ortiz was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Hortêncio Fontes might have been able to make a better finish in the 96th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Geovânio Veloso. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Hortêncio Fontes ran back to his position shaking his head. Cruzeiro MZC -DMZ-'s fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
