Rogério Paraense showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Miguel Alagoano, who was totally free with the ball in the 7th minute. The supporters of Austra VFC booed when Zandarin FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 8 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gwyn Lawson didn't get a good kick on the ball. 21 minutes into the game, Gwyn Lawson cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Clóvis Zonta was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Gwyn Lawson's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Clóvis Zonta read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 30th minute of play. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Miguel Alagoano stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Zandarin FC's Rogério Paraense played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Váldson da Silva in the 64th minute of play. Bebeto Baiano struck a weak shot in the 65th minute. Rogério Paraense didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Austra VFC. Rogério Paraense made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Miguel Alagoano in the 69th minute of play. A collision led to Zandarin FC getting a freekick after 82 minutes play. Manfredo Saldanha hit a great ball. In the 84th minute, Manfredo Saldanha hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 87th minute, Christiano Chaves reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Clóvis Zonta. The goal made the score 0-2. Zandarin FC's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
