Samuca Tepedino's late challenge caught a Pirajiba's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Samuca Tepedino helped the player get up and apologised. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nelson de Queiroz in the 12th minute of play forced Psiu!'s goalkeeper Teodoro Mazza to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Teodoro Mazza showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jairo Santana, who was totally free with the ball in the 14th minute. Samuca Tepedino had several of the Pirajiba's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 17 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 1-0 score and a disappointed Cido Meireles as he didn't even see the shot coming. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nelson de Queiroz in the 23rd minute of play forced Psiu!'s goalkeeper Teodoro Mazza to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Jairo Santana had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Teodoro Mazza stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Nelson de Queiroz's shot from short distance in the 29th minute. In the 29th minute, Amadeu Sousa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Sidnei Veloso kicked well hit freekick during the 33rd minute of the match. Teodoro Mazza showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nelson de Queiroz in the 35th minute of the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Samuca Tepedino got free with Cido Meireles in the 37th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Teodoro Mazza took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nelson de Queiroz, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 42 minutes, Fritz Wiberg mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Psiu! and the Pirajiba players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Psiu!'s Fritz Wiberg got a free kick in the 42nd minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Samuca Tepedino in the 47th minute of play forced Pirajiba's goalkeeper Cido Meireles to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Sydney Cearense kicked well hit freekick during the 47th minute of the match. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

54 minutes into the match, Sydney Cearense notched a goal, 1-2, to the right of Psiu!'s Teodoro Mazza. Teodoro Mazza was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Samuca Tepedino struck a weak shot in the 60th minute. Cido Meireles didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Psiu!. Nelson de Queiroz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 68th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Amadeu Sousa kicked well hit freekick during the 69th minute of the match. In the 74thth minute of the game Nelson de Queiroz who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Psiu!'s Teodoro Mazza was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After 74 minutes of play Psiu!'s Amadeu Sousa was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. After a rather tough play, Psiu!'s Amadeu Sousa got a free kick in the 75th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Nelson de Queiroz in the 77th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Teodoro Mazza saved Psiu! from getting behind. The audience was convinced that Nelson de Queiroz's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Teodoro Mazza was relentless in the 79th minute of the game. Remo Trigo was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 82 minutes into the match. In the 88th minute, Nelson de Queiroz reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Teodoro Mazza. The goal made the score 1-4. Teodoro Mazza showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sydney Cearense, who was totally free with the ball in the 91st minute.
