After 37 played minutes Ricart Futebol Clube got a freekick which was hit by Jânio Vinhas. In the 43rd match minute, Ricart Futebol Clube was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Hans-Jürgen Beckenbauer to maneuver through the defense. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Eduardo Arósio to make the kick off. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Hans-Jürgen Beckenbauer helped the player get up and apologised. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 67th minute of the game. The audience thought a goal was coming when Abel Ramalho got free with Sílvio Hermes in the 74th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort.
