The LTA FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. After some careless play in the Espinillos AFC defense, Ivan Bernad kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Marcial Osoitz. The Espinillos AFC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Marcial Osoitz should have stopped the shot. Matías Giménez sent away a hard shot on goal in the 12th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After having played for 15 minutes, Rene Eguntsenti managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Martin Palermo in the 22nd minute of play forced Espinillos AFC's goalkeeper Marcial Osoitz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Espinillos AFC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Ivan Bernad was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-7. After the first half LTA FC were leading 0-7. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Martin Palermo to make the kick off. The supporters of LTA FC booed when Espinillos AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 57 match minutes in a wonderful position. Domingo Lehior didn't get a good kick on the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Martin Palermo got free with Marcial Osoitz in the 60th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. A collision led to Espinillos AFC getting a freekick after 60 minutes play. Rene Eguntsenti hit a great ball. Espinillos AFC's Marcial Osoitz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ivan Bernad in the 63rd minute of play. 73 minutes into the match, Matías Giménez dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Marcial Osoitz, 0-10. With a little luck, Espinillos AFC's Marcial Osoitz got control of the ball when Inocencio Ariando tried to sneak it across the goal line. Marcial Osoitz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Martin Palermo in the 79th minute of play. Inocencio Ariando could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 80th minute of the match, but Marcial Osoitz made a huge save. 82 minutes into the game, Teo Martxelin cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-11. Marcial Osoitz was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 85th minute of the match, Inocencio Ariando got a very nice opportunity to score, but Marcial Osoitz was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Marcial Osoitz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Matías Giménez, who was totally free with the ball in the 86th minute. 88 minutes into the game, Matías Giménez cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-12. Marcial Osoitz was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. LTA FC made a substitution. Federico Tevez replaced Martin Palermo. When Ivan Bernad came up free with the goalie in the 96th minute, the LTA FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ivan Bernad couldn't finish the play.
