The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Nunez Fe took the ball and in the 46 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Nestor Kirchner. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Constantino Sanchez the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Riesgo Cero protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Constantino Sanchez had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 57th minute of the game. One of Riesgo Cero:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Pombero FC:s goal.
