In the 49th minute of the match LOS MENTI got a corner. independiente's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Emilio Jaizki ran over to the corner to take the kick.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Faustino Cedro to make the kick off. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Melchor Gartzea showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Damian Urki blasted a shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Melchor Gartzea having to make a save. After 98 minutes of play, independiente's Damian Urki made it 8-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Melchor Gartzea was left in no man's land by his defense there! There was no doubt that independiente were the better team. independiente's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
