The audience thought a goal was coming when Leandro Dunixi got free with Jean-Marie Pfaff in the 8th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Brujas KV's Jean-Marie Pfaff proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 9th minute of the match, managed to save Brujas KV from getting a goal against them. 12 minutes into the match, Brujas KV's goalkeeper Jean-Marie Pfaff had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Uno Sefastsson. An unexpectedly hard shot by Celestino Ixaka in the 14th minute of play forced Brujas KV's goalkeeper Jean-Marie Pfaff to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jean-Marie Pfaff made a fantastic save in the 15th minute, when Uno Sefastsson sent off a good shot on target. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Benedicto Sancho in the 51st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Jean-Marie Pfaff prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Brujas KV's Jean-Marie Pfaff played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Uno Sefastsson in the 53rd minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Benedicto Sancho in the 54th minute of play forced Brujas KV's goalkeeper Jean-Marie Pfaff to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 56 minutes into the match, Brujas KV's goal looked a bit too open when Rik Clarijs came free, but Jean-Marie Pfaff reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 63rd minute Uno Sefastsson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jean-Marie Pfaff saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Los Podridos ll's Florentino Marino played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Camilo Cordarrol in the 66th minute of play. Jean-Marie Pfaff took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Leandro Dunixi, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Celestino Ixaka in the 71st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jean-Marie Pfaff saved Brujas KV from getting behind. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Leandro Dunixi in the 74th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Jean-Marie Pfaff prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Clinton Mata charged in rather forcefully in the 74th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Clinton Mata the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Los Podridos ll booed when Brujas KV was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 75 match minutes in a wonderful position. Clinton Mata didn't get a good kick on the ball. Los Podridos ll's Ismael Videl was substituted for Luisito Ponciano. Clinton Mata hit a great freekick 76 minutes into the match. After 77 minutes of play, Los Podridos ll's Benedicto Sancho made it 2-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Jean-Marie Pfaff was left in no man's land by his defense there! Jean-Marie Pfaff made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Benedicto Sancho in the 82nd minute of play. 88 minutes into the match, Brujas KV's goal looked a bit too open when Uno Sefastsson came free, but Jean-Marie Pfaff reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 92 minutes into the game, Los Podridos ll's Leandro Dunixi nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Jean-Marie Pfaff made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-0. In the 95th minute Celestino Ixaka shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jean-Marie Pfaff saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, Los Podridos ll's Amado Gutierrez got a free kick in the 95th minute. Melquiades Lizars short, quick shot in the 97thth minute got Florentino Marino to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Brujas KV's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
