Julio Urko started the match with the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Armando Paredes in the 12th minute of play forced Racing Club's goalkeeper Eugenio Nevada to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience was convinced that Armando Paredes's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Eugenio Nevada was relentless in the 12th minute of the game. Eugenio Nevada showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Armando Paredes in the 24th minute of the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ciro Rexino in the 29th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Aurelio Astudillo saved Don Malbec from getting behind. Aurelio Astudillo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ciro Rexino in the 32nd minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Armando Paredes in the 39th minute of play forced Racing Club's goalkeeper Eugenio Nevada to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 41 minutes into the match, Racing Club's goal looked a bit too open when Armando Paredes came free, but Eugenio Nevada reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of Don Malbec booed when Racing Club was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 41 match minutes in a wonderful position. Daniel Valerio didn't get a good kick on the ball. Eugenio Nevada showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Armando Paredes, who was totally free with the ball in the 43rd minute. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

Aurelio Astudillo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ciro Rexino, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Don Malbec's Aurelio Astudillo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Amado Chinto in the 54th minute of play. In the 56th minute of the match Racing Club got a corner. Don Malbec's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Eustacio Fernandes ran over to the corner to take the kick. Eustacio Fernandes made a great header on Racing Club's corner, it was just that Don Malbec's Aurelio Astudillo managed to reach the ball for a save. Aurelio Astudillo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ciro Rexino in the 65th minute of play. Aurelio Astudillo made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. In the 89th minute Aquilino Timo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Aurelio Astudillo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Racing Club were awarded a corner in the 90th minute after Don Malbec's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Aquilino Timo took the corner. Aurelio Astudillo stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Aquilino Timo's shot from short distance in the 96th minute. Don Malbec's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
