Xilo Jaimes's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Vincente Biggs read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 10th minute of play. Tomas Pando was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Rufino Rengifo showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 2-0 in the 11 minute of play. Viviano Basurto fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vincente Biggs having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Baez FC's zone, Xilo Jaimes stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Vincente Biggs came out of the goal and Xilo Jaimes tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Tomas Pando made an important save on a dangerous shot by Orlando Urquijo in the 29th minute. In the 30th minute Filomeno Arteche shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tomas Pando saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Orlando Urquijo struck a weak shot in the 32nd minute. Tomas Pando didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Baez FC. Romano Talma hit a great freekick 35 minutes into the match. In the 35th minute Viviano Basurto shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vincente Biggs saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Romano Talma kicked well hit freekick during the 38th minute of the match. After 45 minutes of play, Liga de Quito's Viviano Basurto made it 2-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Vincente Biggs was left in no man's land by his defense there! After 48 played minutes Liga de Quito got a freekick which was hit by Vilson Valls. In the 48th minute of the match Benicio Ferreccio sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Tomas Pando skillfully saved the ball.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Rufino Rengifo was the one to do the kick off. Filomeno Arteche scored 3-1 in the 53rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Tomas Pando, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Tomas Pando made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Filomeno Arteche in the 57th minute of play. 58 minutes into the match, Liga de Quito's goal looked a bit too open when Rufino Rengifo came free, but Tomas Pando reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Filomeno Arteche in the 63rd minute of play forced Liga de Quito's goalkeeper Tomas Pando to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 80 played minutes Liga de Quito got a freekick which was hit by Xaiver Riart. 86 minutes into the match, Liga de Quito's goal looked a bit too open when Rufino Rengifo came free, but Tomas Pando reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 87th minute, Orlando Urquijo ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Tomas Pando was frozen by the shot and now it was 5-1. Nestor Ibaute received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 92nd minute. Vincente Biggs tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Viviano Basurto sent away a hard shot on goal in the 95th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Baez FC walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
