Zülfikar Fırıncı made an important save on a dangerous shot by Cihat Çokay in the 19th minute. If Nebi Cerme had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Zülfikar Fırıncı was out of position in the 24 minute of play, and Baycan Ünsan capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Abdulbaki Hanefi stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After 51 minutes, Ahmet Seyfi Olgaç mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the nRdLiFe and the Newells Old Boys players grew even worse after the yellow card.
