Cristian Minteuan made a fantastic save in the 12th minute, when Eusebiu Stancu sent off a good shot on target. In the 14th minute, Robert Stafie fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Cristian Minteuan, passed just outside the right post. A collision led to PARIS SAINT-GERMAIN getting a freekick after 14 minutes play. Irinel Stănilă hit a great ball. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Eusebiu Stancu couldn't finish the play. 28 minutes into the match, Purcaresti CSS's Eusebiu Stancu sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Cristian Minteuan narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Cezar Novăceanu struck a weak shot in the 31st minute. Cristian Minteuan didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Purcaresti CSS. Ferdinand Horhoianu stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Irinel Stănilă's shot from short distance in the 36th minute. Pavel Codin was in a good position and managed to take a shot, but he missed just to the outside of the post. After some fancy dribbling in the 45th minute, Eugen Tiberiu managed to get in a good position for a shot. Purcaresti CSS's supporters rose to their feet, but Eugen Tiberiu was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Cristian Minteuan breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 46 minutes into the game, Nicu Miniș was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. PARIS SAINT-GERMAIN's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Purcaresti CSS the free kick.

The wind increased when Irinel Stănilă made the kick off in the second half. In the 58th minute Ionuț Gane shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cristian Minteuan saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Eugen Tiberiu scored 1-0 in the 60th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Cristian Minteuan, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After a rather tough play, Purcaresti CSS's Aurelian Stanciu got a free kick in the 67th minute. After 67 played minutes, PARIS SAINT-GERMAIN's Narcis Nediu shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Ferdinand Horhoianu came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in PARIS SAINT-GERMAIN reached it. Irinel Stănilă made a well adjusted shot against goal in the 71stth minute coming free in front of the goal, but Ferdinand Horhoianu would not let the ball come through at any expense and made a nice save by the left post. Irinel Stănilă who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 72ndth minute tested the skills of Ferdinand Horhoianu when he managed to save the team from getting behind. In the 75th minute, Eusebiu Stancu ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Cristian Minteuan was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-0. If Leo Schuhmacher had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 78th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
