GoooooooooooooooooooooooL's Gelu Ţintea proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 9th minute of the match, managed to save GoooooooooooooooooooooooL from getting a goal against them. Basarab Marincean showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Claudiu Bociort in the 11th minute of the match. Dinu Slicaru charged in rather forcefully in the 12th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Dinu Slicaru the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to GoooooooooooooooooooooooL getting a freekick after 12 minutes play. Dinu Slicaru hit a great ball. Valentin Voicu's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 13thth minute, Gelu Ţintea skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. With a little luck, GoooooooooooooooooooooooL's Gelu Ţintea got control of the ball when Valentin Voicu tried to sneak it across the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Albert Turdeanu in the 18th minute of play forced GoooooooooooooooooooooooL's goalkeeper Gelu Ţintea to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Basarab Marincean took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Claudiu Bociort, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of Buffalo Timişoara booed when GoooooooooooooooooooooooL was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 35 match minutes in a wonderful position. Buffalo Timişoara's Basarab Marincean played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dinu Slicaru in the 41st minute of play. In the 43rd minute Dinu Slicaru shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Basarab Marincean saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After the first half GoooooooooooooooooooooooL were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Franky Ooms to make the kick off. GoooooooooooooooooooooooL's Gelu Ţintea played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Valentin Voicu in the 52nd minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Codruț Ferenț in the 58th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Basarab Marincean prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Gelu Ţintea took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Orhan Ortanca, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 65 minutes into the match, GoooooooooooooooooooooooL's goal looked a bit too open when Valentin Voicu came free, but Gelu Ţintea reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some careless play in the GoooooooooooooooooooooooL defense, Franky Ooms kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Gelu Ţintea. The GoooooooooooooooooooooooL fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Gelu Ţintea should have stopped the shot. Buffalo Timişoara's Bogdan Noworolnik was substituted for Albert Turdeanu. 71 minutes into the match, Valentin Voicu notched a goal, 2-1, to the right of GoooooooooooooooooooooooL's Gelu Ţintea. Gelu Ţintea was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 77 minutes into the game, Valentin Voicu cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-1. Gelu Ţintea was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in.
