Spectators: 174 (Terracing: 131, Seating: 40, VIP seats: 3) Carpathians's Lucrețiu Ogică started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 4th minute, Gigi Todericiu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 5 minutes into the match, Carpathians's goal looked a bit too open when Calistrat Potopea came free, but Felix Antonescu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 9 played minutes F.C CLUJ MEDICINA got a freekick which was hit by Iustinian Costeiantu. Bogdan Lobonț showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Urs Nebunu, who was totally free with the ball in the 10th minute. Narcis Agachi recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 11th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 14 minutes into the match, F.C CLUJ MEDICINA's goal looked a bit too open when Lucrețiu Ogică came free, but Bogdan Lobonț reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a little luck, Carpathians's Felix Antonescu got control of the ball when Aron Melinescu tried to sneak it across the goal line. 15 minutes into the game, Aron Melinescu recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Felix Antonescu. Aron Melinescu showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. Bogdan Lobonț took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Urs Nebunu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 27 minutes into the game, F.C CLUJ MEDICINA's Calistrat Potopea nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Felix Antonescu made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-1. 33 minutes into the match, Gigi Todericiu had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Bogdan Lobonț. F.C CLUJ MEDICINA's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Gigi Todericiu was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-2. 37 minutes into the match, F.C CLUJ MEDICINA's goal looked a bit too open when Gigi Todericiu came free, but Bogdan Lobonț reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 41st minute, Petre Comișel hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Bogdan Lobonț made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Petre Comișel in the 46th minute of play. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 2-2 after a close first half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Calistrat Potopea stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. With a little luck, F.C CLUJ MEDICINA's Bogdan Lobonț got control of the ball when Urs Nebunu tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 57th minute Gigi Todericiu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bogdan Lobonț saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Lucrețiu Ogică received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Bogdan Lobonț came out and tried to block the shot, but Lucrețiu Ogică slotted it home off the left post making it 2-3 in the 58th minute. In the 65th minute the ball was on its way in behind Carpathians's goalkeeper Felix Antonescu, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Mihai Nițescu hit a great freekick 68 minutes into the match. The supporters of F.C CLUJ MEDICINA booed when Carpathians was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 69 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gigi Todericiu didn't get a good kick on the ball. Bogdan Lobonț made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Urs Nebunu in the 74th minute of play. Aron Melinescu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 75th minute. Felix Antonescu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Mihnea Găină kicked well hit freekick during the 79th minute of the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Urs Nebunu in the 82nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Bogdan Lobonț prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 89 minutes into the match, Carpathians's goal looked a bit too open when Calistrat Potopea came free, but Felix Antonescu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
