When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

Aleksander Jaktorowo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Zbigniew Boniek in the 52nd minute of play. 55 minutes into the match, Teobald Kostka had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Izydor Czaplicki. KS Olimpia Warszawa's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Teobald Kostka was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. Izydor Czaplicki showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Barnaba Niewiadomski in the 58th minute of the match. Aleksander Jaktorowo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Eddie Vedder, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. KS Olimpia Warszawa's Izydor Czaplicki played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Teobald Kostka in the 62nd minute of play. When Eddie Vedder came up free with the goalie in the 64th minute, the KS Olimpia Warszawa fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Eddie Vedder couldn't finish the play. In the 65th minute Eddie Vedder shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Aleksander Jaktorowo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
