Spectators: 152 (Terracing: 114, Seating: 35, VIP seats: 3) Carlisle United's Marty Midgley started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Vilius Latvėnas could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 3rd minute of the match, but Danny Paine made a huge save. 5 minutes into the match, Aleksotas FK's goal looked a bit too open when Brad Hudson came free, but Virginijus Taujanskas reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Marty Midgley recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 8th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Samuel Elding in the 10th minute of play forced Aleksotas FK's goalkeeper Virginijus Taujanskas to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Virginijus Taujanskas took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Brad Hudson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gareth Vaughn in the 13th minute of play forced Aleksotas FK's goalkeeper Virginijus Taujanskas to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Augustinas Baliutiss short, quick shot in the 14thth minute got Danny Paine to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. When Gareth Vaughn came up free with the goalie in the 15th minute, the Carlisle United fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gareth Vaughn couldn't finish the play. Aleksotas FK's Virginijus Taujanskas played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Brad Hudson in the 24th minute of play. In the 31st match minute, Carlisle United was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rueben Sutherland to maneuver through the defense. 35 minutes into the match, Marty Midgley had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Virginijus Taujanskas. Aleksotas FK's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Marty Midgley was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. Virginijus Taujanskas made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Seth Warburton in the 43rd minute of play. In the 46th minute Gareth Vaughn shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Virginijus Taujanskas saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Vilius Latvėnas was the one to do the kick off. Duncan Draper kicked well hit freekick during the 52nd minute of the match. Nedas Stulpinas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 53rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Aleksotas FK's Virginijus Taujanskas proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 55th minute of the match, managed to save Aleksotas FK from getting a goal against them. Danny Paine showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Augustinas Baliutis in the 56th minute of the match. Carlisle United's Danny Paine played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Vilius Latvėnas in the 60th minute of play. In the 62nd minute, Duncan Draper fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. A collision led to Aleksotas FK getting a freekick after 84 minutes play. Benjaminas Česnauskas hit a great ball. In the 86th minute Marty Midgley shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Virginijus Taujanskas saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Dinaras Kriščiūnas during the 87th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 92nd minute, Carlisle United's Marty Midgley dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-2. Carlisle United's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
