An unexpectedly hard shot by Maurizio Brink in the 4th minute of play forced FC MatriX's goalkeeper Alan Arula to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Uwe Ziege showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kalvi Rink, who was totally free with the ball in the 8th minute. After 10 minutes Rot-Weiss-Essen's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Raido Raie who took care of the corner kick. FC MatriX's Alan Arula played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Björn Mokros in the 12th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Rot-Weiss-Essen's zone, Kalvi Rink stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Uwe Ziege came out of the goal and Kalvi Rink tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 15th minute, Julius Vismann ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Uwe Ziege was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. 19 minutes into the match, Rot-Weiss-Essen's goal looked a bit too open when Julius Vismann came free, but Uwe Ziege reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 20 minutes, Julius Vismann made it 0-2 with a short kick to the right side. Rot-Weiss-Essen's Uwe Ziege tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Alan Arula showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Björn Mokros in the 25th minute of the match. Alan Arula made an important save on a dangerous shot by Elmar Assing in the 26th minute. A collision led to FC MatriX getting a freekick after 28 minutes play. Risto Aab hit a great ball. In the 29th minute, Hannes Kapell fired a really elegant long shot, but Alan Arula threw himself and managed to get hold of the ball just in front of the right post. Teet Harju kicked well hit freekick during the 30th minute of the match. In the 31st match minute, Rot-Weiss-Essen was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Maurizio Brink to maneuver through the defense. Alan Arula stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Erkan Fostiropoulos's shot from short distance in the 36th minute. FC MatriX's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Raido Raie in the 40th minute. FC MatriX's Raido Raie was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Uwe Ziege in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. With his leg Alan Arula managed to avoid a goal in the 44thth minute, when Rot-Weiss-Essen's Björn Mokros fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Alan Arula showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Björn Mokros in the 45th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Julius Vismann in the 47th minute of play forced Rot-Weiss-Essen's goalkeeper Uwe Ziege to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.

54 minutes into the game, Jo Felski was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Rot-Weiss-Essen's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave FC MatriX the free kick. Jo Felski kicked well hit freekick during the 54th minute of the match. Alan Arula showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Björn Mokros, who was totally free with the ball in the 59th minute. 60 minutes in the game, the ball went up into the seats when Rot-Weiss-Essen's Elmar Assing fired away a shot that was just a little bit too high. When the final whistle sounded FC MatriX left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Rot-Weiss-Essen.
