Atlético Ourense's Jerrold Valcarcel played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Abel Peralta in the 3rd minute of play. Albérico Vilaverde was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Unai Calatayud showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-0 in the 9 minute of play. Atlético Ourense's attentive Olo Cabanela managed to snatch the ball when Adriano Campos made a throw-in in the 12th minute of the game. Atlético Ourense's Jerrold Valcarcel played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Moisés Álvares in the 21st minute of play. In the 22nd minute, Pedro Avelar hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 24th minute of the match Atlético Ourense got a corner. SC Braga's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Rogelio Verdaguer ran over to the corner to take the kick. After taking down the ball on Atlético Ourense's corner Dubardo Mangas fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Albérico Vilaverde quite easily take care of the ball. After 32 minutes, Unai Calatayud made it 3-0 with a short kick to the right side. SC Braga's Albérico Vilaverde tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. The supporters of Atlético Ourense booed when SC Braga was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 38 match minutes in a wonderful position. Leal Antas didn't get a good kick on the ball. Albérico Vilaverde showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Unai Calatayud in the 40th minute of the match. Unai Calatayud fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Albérico Vilaverde having to interfere. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 3-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Unai Calatayud stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. A collision led to Atlético Ourense getting a freekick after 54 minutes play. Olo Cabanela hit a great ball. Albérico Vilaverde showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Unai Calatayud, who was totally free with the ball in the 58th minute. Albérico Vilaverde made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Unai Calatayud in the 61st minute of play. Olo Cabanela got his second yellow card in the match during the 65th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. A collision led to Atlético Ourense getting a freekick after 66 minutes play. Olo Cabanela hit a great ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Luís Antas during the 69th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Rogelio Verdaguer was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 70th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Moisés Álvares sent away a hard shot on goal in the 74th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 78th match minute, SC Braga was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Francisco Bettencourt to maneuver through the defense. Fabio Delgado hit a great freekick 82 minutes into the match. Atlético Ourense's Dubardo Mangas got a good chance for a goal in the 91st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 94 minutes into the match, Atlético Ourense's Dubardo Mangas sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Albérico Vilaverde narrowly saved just below the crossbar.
