After a defensive mix-up in Atlético Micaelense's zone, Jerico Ramos stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Alexandre Paixão came out of the goal and Jerico Ramos tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The supporters of Atlético Micaelense booed when Picanya FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 14 match minutes in a wonderful position. János Dankó didn't get a good kick on the ball. Sebastiano Treviño made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Veríssimo Veríssimo in the 14th minute of play. With a little luck, Atlético Micaelense's Alexandre Paixão got control of the ball when Vito Vilanova tried to sneak it across the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Adérito Fontoura during the 16th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. With an all-out effort, Picanya FC's Alexandre Paixão threw himself towards the right post 28 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Ander Astudillo, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. 28 minutes in the game, the ball went up into the seats when Picanya FC's Ander Astudillo fired away a shot that was just a little bit too high. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The wind increased when Torcato Paião made the kick off in the second half. Adérito Fontoura kicked well hit freekick during the 89th minute of the match. After some careless play in the Atlético Micaelense defense, Ander Astudillo kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Alexandre Paixão. The Atlético Micaelense fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Alexandre Paixão should have stopped the shot. Picanya FC's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Torcato Paião 95 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 1-2. Atlético Micaelense's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
