The audience was convinced that Deivid Montenegro's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Zeca Queiroz was relentless in the 18th minute of the game. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Luiz Fábio Lima was the one to do the kick off. Eriberto Leão showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luiz Fábio Lima in the 51st minute of the match. After some careless play in the Joinville Esporte Clube defense, Mário Damião kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Eriberto Leão. The Joinville Esporte Clube fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Eriberto Leão should have stopped the shot. In the 87th minute Marquinhos Messias shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eriberto Leão saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 88th minute, Marquinhos Messias made a precise shot to the right of Eriberto Leão. Joinville Esporte Clube's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 9-0. Marquinhos Messias struck a weak shot in the 91st minute. Eriberto Leão didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Barrenta SC.
