The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Sydney Cearense during the 5th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Sydney Cearense hit a great freekick 5 minutes into the match. 6 minutes into the match, Yuri Alberto had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Cido Meireles. Pirajiba's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Yuri Alberto was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Cido Meireles took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Yuri Alberto, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience was convinced that Yuri Alberto's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Cido Meireles was relentless in the 17th minute of the game. Carlos Eduardo Tróia blasted a shot towards the goal in the 18th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Cido Meireles having to make a save. After 22 played minutes Pirajiba got a freekick which was hit by Natanael Couto. 24 minutes into the game, Arsenal de Gols F.C's Carlos Eduardo Tróia nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Cido Meireles made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. In the 28th minute Yuri Alberto shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cido Meireles saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Simão Mangueira blasted a shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Cido Meireles having to make a save. Cido Meireles showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Yuri Alberto, who was totally free with the ball in the 30th minute. 33 minutes into the match, Pirajiba's goal looked a bit too open when Ernesto Lucas came free, but Cido Meireles reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Cido Meireles came out of the goal in the 35th minute to try and stop a shot by Arsenal de Gols F.C's Yuri Alberto. But to his dismay, Yuri Alberto quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-3. After some careless play in the Pirajiba defense, Carlos Eduardo Tróia kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Cido Meireles. The Pirajiba fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Cido Meireles should have stopped the shot. In the 46th minute, Yuri Alberto ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Cido Meireles was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-6. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-6 lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Nelson de Queiroz to strike the kick off in the second half. Cido Meireles showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Yuri Alberto in the 52nd minute of the match. A collision led to Pirajiba getting a freekick after 53 minutes play. Jairo Santana hit a great ball. With a little luck, Pirajiba's Cido Meireles got control of the ball when Ernesto Lucas tried to sneak it across the goal line. 56 minutes into the match, Pirajiba's goalkeeper Cido Meireles had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Yuri Alberto. Luís Paulo Alcântara who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 62ndth minute tested the skills of Cido Meireles when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Yuri Albertos short, quick shot in the 63rdth minute got Cido Meireles to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. When the match had gone on for 66 minutes, Yuri Alberto put it in 0-8 from a short distance just to the right of Cido Meireles. Arsenal de Gols F.C made a substitution. Arsenal de Gols F.C's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ernesto Lucas was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Yuri Alberto received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 77th minute. Cido Meireles tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Arsenal de Gols F.C played a much better game than Pirajiba and deserved their victory. The Pirajiba players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
