After having played for 10 minutes, Alfredo de Brito managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Sangue nos Zóio's supporters crossed their fingers, but Alfredo de Brito was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 11th match minute, Sangue nos Zóio was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jeremias Marques to maneuver through the defense. 0-2 became the score in the 15th minute when Patrick Neiva elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. Edvaldo Bastos struck a weak shot in the 19th minute. Célio do Valle didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Sangue nos Zóio. Enrique de Lima kicked well hit freekick during the 22nd minute of the match. When Basílio Mazza came up free with the goalie in the 24th minute, the Xapetuba Futebol Clube fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Basílio Mazza couldn't finish the play. Clemente Esteves didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Laerte Ramalho went, in the 28th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-3 was the resulting score. When Alfredo de Brito fell near the penalty area in the 31st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Sangue nos Zóio's protests and gave Alfredo de Brito a yellow card for diving instead. Xapetuba Futebol Clube made a substitution. Conrado da Mata replaced Enrique de Lima. 36 minutes into the match, Patrick Neiva notched a goal, 0-4, to the right of Sangue nos Zóio's Clemente Esteves. Clemente Esteves was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 42nd minute, Edvaldo Bastos left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Sangue nos Zóio fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-4. Disappointed in the 1-4 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Egídio Ortiz made a kick off. In the 51st match minute, Xapetuba Futebol Clube was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gilvan Vidal to maneuver through the defense. After 54 minutes, Orlando da Cunha mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Xapetuba Futebol Clube and the Sangue nos Zóio players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Xapetuba Futebol Clube getting a freekick after 54 minutes play. Orlando da Cunha hit a great ball. 56 minutes into the game, Cleiton de Toledo was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Sangue nos Zóio's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Xapetuba Futebol Clube the free kick. The supporters of Xapetuba Futebol Clube booed when Sangue nos Zóio was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 56 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cleiton de Toledo didn't get a good kick on the ball. Sangue nos Zóio's Jeremias Marques quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Aílton Cearense, made in the 59th minute of the game. Célio do Valle showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Egídio Ortiz in the 61st minute of the match. 70 minutes into the match, Egídio Ortiz notched a goal, 2-5, to the right of Xapetuba Futebol Clube's Célio do Valle. Célio do Valle was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Patrick Neivas short, quick shot in the 75thth minute got Clemente Esteves to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. In the 77th match minute, Xapetuba Futebol Clube was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Fellipe Gaspar to maneuver through the defense. Alfredo de Brito fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 80th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Célio do Valle having to interfere. With a little luck, Sangue nos Zóio's Clemente Esteves got control of the ball when Patrick Neiva tried to sneak it across the goal line. Célio do Valle made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Egídio Ortiz in the 83rd minute of play. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Xapetuba Futebol Clube walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
