Pesqueira City's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Valdomiro Duarte was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. Through an outstanding action, after 23 minutes, Romeu Batista successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. The Várzea F.C. fans' excitement grew in the 30th match minute when Várzea F.C.'s Valdomiro Duarte looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-3 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. After 34 played minutes Pesqueira City got a freekick which was hit by Ronaldo Guimarães. An unexpectedly hard shot by Joaquim Marques in the 35th minute of play forced Pesqueira City's goalkeeper Enéas Borges to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to Pesqueira City getting a freekick after 35 minutes play. Dino Mesquita hit a great ball. Rubinho Queirós took the ball and in the 36 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Enéas Borges. Enéas Borges dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-4. 39 minutes into the match, Pesqueira City's goal looked a bit too open when Víktor Correia came free, but Enéas Borges reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Enéas Borges showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Valdomiro Duarte, who was totally free with the ball in the 43rd minute. After 45 played minutes Pesqueira City got a freekick which was hit by Dino Mesquita. In the 46th minute, Vivaldo Bueno sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Pesqueira City's Enéas Borges didn't even have to move. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-4 lead.
