Spectators: 152 (Terracing: 114, Seating: 35, VIP seats: 3) An unexpectedly hard shot by Luiz Fernando Abraão in the 3rd minute of play forced Monumento Sports's goalkeeper Natanael Sena to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to Monumento Sports getting a freekick after 4 minutes play. Bunda Brilhante hit a great ball. Natanael Sena stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Hernani Travassos's shot from short distance in the 8th minute. Reginaldo Veiga kicked well hit freekick during the 14th minute of the match. In the 15th minute, one of Catugi FC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Catugi FC. Paulo José Monteiro shot the penalty kick by force right in the crossbar. No goal. The supporters of Catugi FC booed when Monumento Sports was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 19 match minutes in a wonderful position. Paulo José Monteiro didn't get a good kick on the ball. Monumento Sports's Natanael Sena played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dudu Borges in the 27th minute of play. Hernani Travassos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 29th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Monumento Sports's Gernando Quintal got a good chance for a goal in the 36th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dudu Borges in the 41st minute of play forced Monumento Sports's goalkeeper Natanael Sena to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Natanael Sena made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dudu Borges in the 45th minute of play. In the 46th minute Dudu Borges shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Natanael Sena saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Paulo José Monteiro to strike the kick off in the second half. Gernando Quintal took the ball and in the 52 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Folke Österlund. Folke Österlund dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. 63 minutes into the game, Falcão Paes was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Catugi FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Monumento Sports the free kick. Falcão Paes hit a great freekick 63 minutes into the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Gernando Quintal in the 78th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Folke Österlund prevented the ball from getting in the gole. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gernando Quintal in the 82nd minute of play forced Catugi FC's goalkeeper Folke Österlund to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience was convinced that Gernando Quintal's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Folke Österlund was relentless in the 82nd minute of the game. Luiz Fernando Abraão kicked well hit freekick during the 83rd minute of the match. When Luiz Fernando Abraão came up free with the goalie in the 89th minute, the Catugi FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Luiz Fernando Abraão couldn't finish the play. Natanael Sena came out of the goal in the 94th minute to try and stop a shot by Catugi FC's Dudu Borges. But to his dismay, Dudu Borges quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2.
