After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

With his leg Dário Neiva managed to avoid a goal in the 56thth minute, when Sagarana Clube's Frederico Costa fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Reinaldo França's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Edmundo de Lima read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 63rd minute of play. Sagarana Clube's Edmundo de Lima played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Reinaldo França in the 65th minute of play. The audience was convinced that Reinaldo França's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Edmundo de Lima was relentless in the 66th minute of the game.
