After a rather tough play, Corinthians's Zé Valle got a free kick in the 14th minute. Romeu Souto made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gernando Ribeiro in the 15th minute of play. After 18 minutes, Vladimir Soares mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Corinthians and the BLACK STAR FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Gernando Ribeiro made a kick off. If Gernando Ribeiro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. BLACK STAR FC fully deserved thier win.
