Spectators: 159 (Terracing: 120, Seating: 36, VIP seats: 3) Independente AC's João Adolfo Secco started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Guto Loureiro's late challenge caught a Independente AC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Guto Loureiro helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Itajaí Football Club getting a freekick after 2 minutes play. Guto Loureiro hit a great ball. In the 5th minute, Bruno Barros left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Itajaí Football Club fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. 8 minutes into the game, Bruno Barros cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Falcão Pimenta was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Telmo Toledo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 13th minute of the match, but Frédson Amorim made a huge save. After 22 minutes of play, Itajaí Football Club's Leonardo Varela made it 0-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Falcão Pimenta was left in no man's land by his defense there! Frédson Amorim didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Orlando Gonçalves went, in the 25th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-3 was the resulting score. João Adolfo Seccos short, quick shot in the 33rdth minute got Frédson Amorim to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Falcão Pimenta showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bruno Barros, who was totally free with the ball in the 40th minute. In the 43rd minute, João Adolfo Secco ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Frédson Amorim was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-3. 46 minutes into the game, Itajaí Football Club's Luís Fabiano Corrêa nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Falcão Pimenta made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-4. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 3-4 lead.

The wind increased when Luís Fabiano Corrêa made the kick off in the second half. In the 57th minute, João Adolfo Secco got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. João Adolfo Secco kicked well hit freekick during the 59th minute of the match. Falcão Pimenta made a fantastic save in the 63rd minute, when Carlos Reis sent off a good shot on target. Carlos Reis recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 67th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 72 played minutes Itajaí Football Club got a freekick which was hit by Jarbas Hermes. Independente AC's Oswaldo Neiva got a good chance for a goal in the 72nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 75 minutes into the game, Luís Fabiano Corrêa cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-6. Falcão Pimenta was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 79th minute, Itajaí Football Club's Hortêncio Fontes seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Hortêncio Fontes the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Itajaí Football Club protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Hortêncio Fontes had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. After a rather tough play, Itajaí Football Club's Hortêncio Fontes got a free kick in the 80th minute. Frédson Amorim showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Oswaldo Neiva, who was totally free with the ball in the 81st minute. 82 minutes into the game, Telmo Toledo cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 4-6. Frédson Amorim was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Carlos Reis struck a weak shot in the 89th minute. Falcão Pimenta didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Itajaí Football Club. Itajaí Football Club's Frédson Amorim played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by João Adolfo Secco in the 94th minute of play. Frédson Amorim made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Telmo Toledo in the 96th minute of play. When the final whistle sounded Itajaí Football Club left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Independente AC.
