Teodoro Luzea kicked well hit freekick during the 5th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, El Millo de Haedo's Alejandro Iliana got a free kick in the 8th minute. After 9 played minutes, CLUB ATLETICO RIVER PLATE's Atilano Florin shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Gustavo Eusko came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in CLUB ATLETICO RIVER PLATE reached it. When Alejandro Iliana fell near the penalty area in the 10th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored El Millo de Haedo's protests and gave Alejandro Iliana a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of CLUB ATLETICO RIVER PLATE booed when El Millo de Haedo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 10 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alejandro Iliana didn't get a good kick on the ball. A hard shot 14 in the game by Evaristo Savier from a close distance when the talented Aaron Karlstedt managed to make a qualified save. CLUB ATLETICO RIVER PLATE's players were relieved. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Marcelo Erruki in the 15th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Gustavo Eusko saved El Millo de Haedo from getting behind. The crowd rose to their feet as Martin Berbiz kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Aaron Karlstedt. That made the score 1-0 in the 21 minute of play. Aaron Karlstedt made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Aristides Damario in the 23rd minute of play. After 25 minutes of play, CLUB ATLETICO RIVER PLATE's Teodoro Luzea made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Gustavo Eusko was left in no man's land by his defense there! Aaron Karlstedt made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Evaristo Savier in the 28th minute of play. Aaron Karlstedt made a fantastic save in the 30th minute, when George Drake sent off a good shot on target. Pascual Deunoro took the ball and in the 31 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Gustavo Eusko. Gustavo Eusko dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-2. 33 minutes into the match, CLUB ATLETICO RIVER PLATE's Teodoro Luzea sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Gustavo Eusko narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The audience thought a goal was coming when Evaristo Savier got free with Aaron Karlstedt in the 41st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 44 minutes into the match, El Millo de Haedo's goal looked a bit too open when Marcelo Erruki came free, but Gustavo Eusko reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Evaristo Savier in the 47th minute of play forced CLUB ATLETICO RIVER PLATE's goalkeeper Aaron Karlstedt to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The score stood at 2-2 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

CLUB ATLETICO RIVER PLATE's Aaron Karlstedt played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Evaristo Savier in the 56th minute of play. When Aristides Damario fell near the penalty area in the 58th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored El Millo de Haedo's protests and gave Aristides Damario a yellow card for diving instead. Aristides Damario kicked well hit freekick during the 58th minute of the match. In the 59thth minute of the game Marcelo Erruki who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but El Millo de Haedo's Gustavo Eusko was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. A collision led to CLUB ATLETICO RIVER PLATE getting a freekick after 60 minutes play. Froilan Joseph hit a great ball. Aaron Karlstedt took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Pedro Luís Schmidt, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. El Millo de Haedo's Gustavo Eusko proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 69th minute of the match, managed to save El Millo de Haedo from getting a goal against them. Pedro Luís Schmidt kicked well hit freekick during the 70th minute of the match. Gustavo Eusko made a fantastic save in the 73rd minute, when Teodoro Luzea sent off a good shot on target. In the 74th minute Evaristo Savier shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Aaron Karlstedt saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 76 played minutes El Millo de Haedo got a freekick which was hit by Lázaro Oto. Gonzalo Tohias, 77 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. After 79 played minutes El Millo de Haedo got a freekick which was hit by Feliciano Gilabert. An unexpectedly hard shot by Feliciano Gilabert in the 83rd minute of play forced CLUB ATLETICO RIVER PLATE's goalkeeper Aaron Karlstedt to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. CLUB ATLETICO RIVER PLATE's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Aristides Damario was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-2. For all the effort they put into the match, the CLUB ATLETICO RIVER PLATE players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for El Millo de Haedo.
