Quirze Millon tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 10th minute, Universitario's Ekialde Viedes seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Ekialde Viedes the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Universitario protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Ekialde Viedes had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. In the 11th minute there was a penalty for Vancouver Reds. Charley Cates stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Quirze Millon. 0-1. Charley Cates fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 13th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Quirze Millon having to interfere. If Charley Cates had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 21st minute Charley Cates shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Quirze Millon saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Charley Cates in the 23rd minute of play forced Universitario's goalkeeper Quirze Millon to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Hassan Barth came up free with the goalie in the 24th minute, the Vancouver Reds fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Hassan Barth couldn't finish the play. In the 32nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Universitario's goalkeeper Quirze Millon, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Quirze Millon made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Charley Cates in the 34th minute of play. Charley Cates sent away a hard shot on goal in the 37th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Charley Cates in the 38th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Quirze Millon prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 40 minutes into the match, Universitario's goal looked a bit too open when Nathan Descoteaux came free, but Quirze Millon reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Charley Cates struck a weak shot in the 42nd minute. Quirze Millon didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Vancouver Reds. Charley Cates sent away a hard shot on goal in the 46th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The Universitario players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Vancouver Reds were winning 0-2.

53 minutes into the match, Universitario's goal looked a bit too open when Charley Cates came free, but Quirze Millon reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 55th minute, Vancouver Reds's Charley Cates ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Quirze Millon. Quirze Millon yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-3. 57 minutes into the match, Universitario's goalkeeper Quirze Millon had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Charley Cates. The audience thought a goal was coming when Nathan Descoteaux got free with Quirze Millon in the 59th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 61 minutes into the match, Reuben Bunch dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Quirze Millon, 0-4. A collision led to Vancouver Reds getting a freekick after 64 minutes play. Nathan Descoteaux hit a great ball. Jerry Lawler received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 67th minute. The supporters of Universitario booed when Vancouver Reds was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 68 match minutes in a wonderful position. Claudio Plante didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 70th minute, Charley Cates reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Quirze Millon. The goal made the score 0-5. Nathan Descoteaux sent away a hard shot on goal in the 73rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a rather tough play, Vancouver Reds's Harlan Correa got a free kick in the 79th minute. Quirze Millon made a fantastic save in the 81st minute, when Charley Cates sent off a good shot on target. Harlan Correa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 82nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 86 minutes into the match, Charley Cates had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Quirze Millon. Universitario's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Charley Cates was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-6. 92 minutes into the match, Charley Cates dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Quirze Millon, 0-7. After 95 played minutes Vancouver Reds got a freekick which was hit by Nathan Descoteaux. When the final whistle sounded Vancouver Reds left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Universitario.
