When Dilmen Şahiner fell near the penalty area in the 4th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Osmanlı İmparatorluğu's protests and gave Dilmen Şahiner a yellow card for diving instead. In the 4th minute, Dilmen Şahiner hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With a little luck, Osmanlı İmparatorluğu's Mehmet Emin Tecelli got control of the ball when Ali Kürşat Uma tried to sneak it across the goal line. Navigators's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Cenan Suer in the 6th minute. Navigators's Cenan Suer was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Mehmet Emin Tecelli in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Osmanlı İmparatorluğu's Mehmet Emin Tecelli proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 14th minute of the match, managed to save Osmanlı İmparatorluğu from getting a goal against them. Navigators's Hayati Özsungur played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Vahit Gökalp in the 18th minute of play. Osmanlı İmparatorluğu's Mehmet Emin Tecelli proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 20th minute of the match, managed to save Osmanlı İmparatorluğu from getting a goal against them. A collision led to Navigators getting a freekick after 22 minutes play. Cenan Suer hit a great ball. Remzi Sayfi scored 0-1 in the 23rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Hayati Özsungur, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 29th match minute, Osmanlı İmparatorluğu was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Hazım Başer to maneuver through the defense. Tunç Erokay hit a great freekick 30 minutes into the match. After a rather tough play, Navigators's Cenan Suer got a free kick in the 37th minute. When Demircan Sabir fell near the penalty area in the 43rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Navigators's protests and gave Demircan Sabir a yellow card for diving instead. In the 45th minute Remzi Sayfi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hayati Özsungur saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Vahit Gökalp made the kick off in the second half. A collision led to Osmanlı İmparatorluğu getting a freekick after 54 minutes play. Recep Talha Timurkan hit a great ball. Navigators's Habib Mennan was substituted for Müslüm Ülkenur. Navigators's Zülfü Acunman was substituted for Bilal Direm. Navigators's Duman Bulut was substituted for Tunç Erokay. A collision led to Navigators getting a freekick after 71 minutes play. Hayyam İpekli hit a great ball. Osmanlı İmparatorluğu's Dursun Ali Ökmen shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 72nd minute of play. The shot was stopped by Hayati Özsungur but with some difficulty. Hayyam İpekli kicked well hit freekick during the 74th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 77th minute, Dursun Ali Ökmen managed to get in a good position for a shot. Osmanlı İmparatorluğu's supporters rose to their feet, but Dursun Ali Ökmen was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Hayati Özsungur breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Ali Kürşat Uma struck a weak shot in the 81st minute. Mehmet Emin Tecelli didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Navigators. In the 85th minute Duman Bulut shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mehmet Emin Tecelli saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Hayati Özsungur made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Remzi Sayfi in the 90th minute of play. The Osmanlı İmparatorluğu supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Osmanlı İmparatorluğu would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
