Spectators: 174 (Terracing: 131, Seating: 40, VIP seats: 3) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Grigore Rizescu took the kick off in the first half of the match. Marcu Voitiş hit a great freekick 2 minutes into the match. After a rather tough play, MIT Craiova's Rareș Bîndean got a free kick in the 4th minute. Stelian Blidaru took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 5th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Iulian Burtea. MIT Craiova's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Grigore Rizescu in the 7th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Denis Hârșu prevented the ball from getting in the gole. MIT Craiova's Mihai Cismaș quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Felix Pană, made in the 9th minute of the game. Matei Onaca struck a weak shot in the 14th minute. Iulian Burtea didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Stiinta-Univ.. Mircea Creangă's late challenge caught a MIT Craiova's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Mircea Creangă helped the player get up and apologised. 20 minutes into the match, Grigore Rizescu had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Denis Hârșu. Stiinta-Univ.'s manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Grigore Rizescu was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. The supporters of Stiinta-Univ. booed when MIT Craiova was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 24 match minutes in a wonderful position. Marcu Voitiş didn't get a good kick on the ball. Denis Hârșu stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Grigore Rizescu's shot from short distance in the 29th minute. After 35 minutes of play Stiinta-Univ.'s Mircea Creangă was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. Mircea Creangă hit a great freekick 36 minutes into the match. Denis Hârșu made a fantastic save in the 38th minute, when Grigore Rizescu sent off a good shot on target. Stiinta-Univ.'s Denis Hârșu proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 38th minute of the match, managed to save Stiinta-Univ. from getting a goal against them. Manuel Burdujan hit a great freekick 39 minutes into the match. In the 47th minute of the game Cazimir Pânzaru made a throw-in which Traian Lupescu played forward.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Matei Onaca made a kick off. Grigore Rizescu took the ball and in the 51 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Denis Hârșu. Denis Hârșu dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-0. When Grigore Rizescu came up free with the goalie in the 55th minute, the MIT Craiova fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Grigore Rizescu couldn't finish the play. Grigore Rizescu recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 66th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a rather tough play, MIT Craiova's Marcu Voitiş got a free kick in the 69th minute. When Maxim Petran fell near the penalty area in the 77th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored MIT Craiova's protests and gave Maxim Petran a yellow card for diving instead. Maxim Petran kicked well hit freekick during the 77th minute of the match. After 79 minutes, Cazimir Pânzaru mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Stiinta-Univ. and the MIT Craiova players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 79th match minute, Stiinta-Univ. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cazimir Pânzaru to maneuver through the defense. In the 85th match minute, Stiinta-Univ. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Matei Onaca to maneuver through the defense. During the 87th minute of the match Cazimir Pânzaru completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Cazimir Pânzaru a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. After 88 played minutes Stiinta-Univ. got a freekick which was hit by Cazimir Pânzaru. MIT Craiova's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
