Nikolas Mattíasson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nerijus Narkūnas in the 13th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mantvydas Silevičius in the 15th minute of play forced Akranes's goalkeeper Nikolas Mattíasson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Nerijus Narkūnas's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Nikolas Mattíasson read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 30th minute of play. Ástgeir Ólafsson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 51st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 54th minute, Savage Hippo's Nerijus Narkūnas ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Nikolas Mattíasson. Nikolas Mattíasson yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-4. In the 59th minute, Savage Hippo's Valdas Tindžiulis seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Valdas Tindžiulis the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Savage Hippo protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Valdas Tindžiulis had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. Algitas Mažeikis received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 65th minute. Nikolas Mattíasson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Nikolas Mattíasson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nerijus Narkūnas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.
