The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 9 minutes into the game, Mac Caron was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. AC Collins's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Real Sociedad the free kick. Mac Caron kicked well hit freekick during the 9th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Elias Fofana in the 9th minute of play forced AC Collins's goalkeeper Alessio Barberio to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 10 minutes into the match, AC Collins's goal looked a bit too open when Gaël Moutard came free, but Alessio Barberio reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 46 minutes of play, AC Collins's Bran Zinov made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Marco Ginola was left in no man's land by his defense there! Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The wind increased when Bran Zinov made the kick off in the second half. 54 minutes into the match, Gaël Moutard notched a goal, 1-2, to the right of AC Collins's Alessio Barberio. Alessio Barberio was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After some fancy dribbling in the 57th minute, Nicolas Hoareau managed to get in a good position for a shot. Real Sociedad's supporters rose to their feet, but Nicolas Hoareau was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Alessio Barberio breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Marco Ginola took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bran Zinov, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a little luck, Real Sociedad's Marco Ginola got control of the ball when Emiliano Tullo tried to sneak it across the goal line. After 67th play minutes Bran Zinov shot 1-3, a short shot which went by Marco Ginola and just under the crossbar into goal. AC Collins's Alfredo Lemma was substituted for Emiliano Tullo. Cristiano Ruggieri fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 74th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marco Ginola having to interfere. A nice corner shot did that Alfredo Lemma got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Marco Ginola quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Alessio Barberio didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from François Vieu went, in the 80th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-3 was the resulting score. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alfredo Lemma in the 89th minute of play forced Real Sociedad's goalkeeper Marco Ginola to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 93rd match minute, Real Sociedad was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Elias Fofana to maneuver through the defense. In the 94th minute Bran Zinov shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marco Ginola saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The AC Collins supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing AC Collins would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
