The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Tolino Toxeiro hit a great freekick 2 minutes into the match. Santiago Ramos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 3rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of QUINTA DAS LUZES F.C. booed when Nueva Adalucia was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 9 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mauricio Casals didn't get a good kick on the ball. Carlos Ornelas took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alexandro Llorente, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 13th match minute, QUINTA DAS LUZES F.C. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Altino Barcelos to maneuver through the defense. After 15 played minutes Nueva Adalucia got a freekick which was hit by Alexandro Llorente. QUINTA DAS LUZES F.C.'s Carlos Ornelas played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alexandro Llorente in the 16th minute of play. In the 17th match minute, QUINTA DAS LUZES F.C. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Altino Barcelos to maneuver through the defense. Desiderio Lozano kicked well hit freekick during the 19th minute of the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Hermenegildo Ferraz got free with Bingen Madariaga in the 19th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mauricio Casals in the 24th minute of play forced QUINTA DAS LUZES F.C.'s goalkeeper Carlos Ornelas to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 25 played minutes QUINTA DAS LUZES F.C. got a freekick which was hit by Jairo Moutinho. In the 26th minute of the match Juan-Francisco Velasco sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Carlos Ornelas skillfully saved the ball. 34 minutes into the game, Hermenegildo Ferraz cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Bingen Madariaga was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Bingen Madariaga was a little too slow when Maurício Moita got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 38th minute. The score was now 2-0.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Romo Viqueira to strike the kick off in the second half. Benedito Mesquita kicked well hit freekick during the 55th minute of the match. Nueva Adalucia's Bingen Madariaga played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Maurício Moita in the 58th minute of play. In the 60th minute, Santiago Ramos hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The supporters of Nueva Adalucia booed when QUINTA DAS LUZES F.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 65 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jairo Moutinho didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 65 played minutes, Nueva Adalucia's Juan-Francisco Velasco shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Carlos Ornelas came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Nueva Adalucia reached it. Carlos Ornelas showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Roberto Marrero, who was totally free with the ball in the 68th minute. The supporters of Nueva Adalucia booed when QUINTA DAS LUZES F.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 68 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jairo Coutinho didn't get a good kick on the ball. With 69 minutes on the clock, Jairo Moreira commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. After 69 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for QUINTA DAS LUZES F.C.! Roberto Marrero was extremely unlucky when he, in the 77th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. With an all-out effort, Nueva Adalucia's Carlos Ornelas threw himself towards the right post 78 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Roberto Marrero, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Jairo Coutinho kicked well hit freekick during the 80th minute of the match. Carlos Ornelas came out of the goal in the 81st minute to try and stop a shot by Nueva Adalucia's Alexandro Llorente. But to his dismay, Alexandro Llorente quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. In the 91st minute Roberto Marrero shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Carlos Ornelas saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, Nueva Adalucia's Santi Quintana got a free kick in the 92nd minute. QUINTA DAS LUZES F.C.'s Santiago Ramos got a good chance for a goal in the 96th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The Nueva Adalucia supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Nueva Adalucia would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
