Amílton Botelho scored 0-1 in the 7th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Célio Mendonça, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Toninho Tepedino made a fantastic save in the 12th minute, when Thiago Matorin sent off a good shot on target. When Luiz Fernando da Silveira came up free with the goalie in the 42nd minute, the Aracatiara EC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Luiz Fernando da Silveira couldn't finish the play. Oscar de Andrade received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 44th minute. Toninho Tepedino tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Júlio Severo hit a great freekick 45 minutes into the match. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The wind increased when Thiago Matorin made the kick off in the second half. Oscar de Andrade hit a great freekick 51 minutes into the match. In the 53rdth minute of the game Amílton Botelho who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Guará FC's Célio Mendonça was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Célio Mendonça showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Amílton Botelho, who was totally free with the ball in the 55th minute. 56 minutes into the game, Naldo Peixoto was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Guará FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Aracatiara EC the free kick. With his leg Célio Mendonça managed to avoid a goal in the 57thth minute, when Aracatiara EC's Amílton Botelho fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. After 69 played minutes Aracatiara EC got a freekick which was hit by Alfredão Esteves. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Elano Loyola during the 71st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Guará FC booed when Aracatiara EC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 71 match minutes in a wonderful position. Elano Loyola didn't get a good kick on the ball. After having played for 72 minutes, Oscar de Andrade managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Guará FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Oscar de Andrade was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Toninho Tepedino showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Thiago Matorin, who was totally free with the ball in the 74th minute. When Luís Eduardo Maciel fell near the penalty area in the 77th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Guará FC's protests and gave Luís Eduardo Maciel a yellow card for diving instead. In the 78th match minute, Guará FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luís Eduardo Maciel to maneuver through the defense. 88 minutes into the match, Guará FC's goal looked a bit too open when Amílton Botelho came free, but Célio Mendonça reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Ricardinho Vander had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 94th minute, Ricardinho Vander managed to get in a good position for a shot. Aracatiara EC's supporters rose to their feet, but Ricardinho Vander was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Célio Mendonça breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Aracatiara EC's supporters were dissatisfied at the end of the match because Guará FC had won, even though Aracatiara EC had held more of the ball.
