Júlio da Fonseca took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Flávio Branco, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Bateia SC's Júlio da Fonseca played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Flávio Branco in the 9th minute of play. After some careless play in the Bateia SC defense, Nilson Velasco kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Júlio da Fonseca. The Bateia SC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Júlio da Fonseca should have stopped the shot. Júlio da Fonseca showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Denílson Coutinho in the 13th minute of the match. In the 16th minute, Severino Moura ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Júlio da Fonseca was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. Severino Moura took the ball and in the 19 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Júlio da Fonseca. Júlio da Fonseca dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-3. In the 25th minute, Nilson Velasco got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Rodolfo Gerber might have been able to make a better finish in the 28th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Júlio da Fonseca. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Rodolfo Gerber ran back to his position shaking his head. After a rather tough play, Florestal Futebol Clube's Flávio Branco got a free kick in the 34th minute. After 35 minutes, Genílson Valladares mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Bateia SC and the Florestal Futebol Clube players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 35th match minute, Bateia SC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Genílson Valladares to maneuver through the defense. Júlio da Fonseca showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Flávio Branco, who was totally free with the ball in the 37th minute. Flávio Branco who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 70thth minute tested the skills of Júlio da Fonseca when he managed to save the team from getting behind. A hard shot 72 in the game by Flávio Branco from a close distance when the talented Júlio da Fonseca managed to make a qualified save. Bateia SC's players were relieved. With a little luck, Bateia SC's Júlio da Fonseca got control of the ball when Flávio Branco tried to sneak it across the goal line. Bateia SC's Júlio da Fonseca proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 80th minute of the match, managed to save Bateia SC from getting a goal against them. After 83 minutes of play, Florestal Futebol Clube's Severino Moura made it 0-7 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Júlio da Fonseca was left in no man's land by his defense there! Luiz Neves charged in rather forcefully in the 88th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Luiz Neves the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Flávio Branco got free with Júlio da Fonseca in the 91st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The supporters of Bateia SC booed when Florestal Futebol Clube was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 94 match minutes in a wonderful position. Severino Moura didn't get a good kick on the ball.
