In the 2nd match minute, Dragões de Campo Grande was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Raimundo Valle to maneuver through the defense. After 3 played minutes Dragões de Campo Grande got a freekick which was hit by Carlos Alberto Paulista. In the 8th match minute, Pereiras FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Silas Soeiro to maneuver through the defense. Pereiras FC's Samuca Paranaense played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Raimundo Valle in the 11th minute of play. In the 16th minute, one of Pereiras FC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Pereiras FC. After 21 played minutes Dragões de Campo Grande got a freekick which was hit by Carlos Alberto Paulista. Carlos Fernando Pinheiro kicked well hit freekick during the 23rd minute of the match. Patrick Machado showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Claudinei Velasco in the 26th minute of the match. Samuca Paranaense made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Raimundo Valle in the 28th minute of play. In the 29th minute Dragões de Campo Grande were awarded a corner. Joaquim Marinho went to the cornerflag to take it. At last the ball reached Raimundo Valle at the corner, ending with a kick to difficult to stop for the goalkeeper of Pereiras FC. 0-2. After 36 minutes, Carlos Engels mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Pereiras FC and the Dragões de Campo Grande players grew even worse after the yellow card. Samuca Paranaense showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Charles Fonseca, who was totally free with the ball in the 37th minute. After 47 minutes of play, Dragões de Campo Grande's Raimundo Valle made it 2-4 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Samuca Paranaense was left in no man's land by his defense there! The Pereiras FC players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Dragões de Campo Grande were winning 2-4.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Carlos Engels to make the kick off. With a little luck, Pereiras FC's Samuca Paranaense got control of the ball when Charles Fonseca tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 60th minute, Dragões de Campo Grande's Raimundo Valle dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-5. The audience thought a goal was coming when Arlindo Macedo got free with Samuca Paranaense in the 63rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 63 minutes into the game, Dragões de Campo Grande's Arlindo Macedo nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Samuca Paranaense made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-6. An unexpectedly hard shot by Eduardo Furtado in the 66th minute of play forced Dragões de Campo Grande's goalkeeper Patrick Machado to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Samuca Paranaense took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Raimundo Valle, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 90 minutes into the match, Pereiras FC's goal looked a bit too open when Raimundo Valle came free, but Samuca Paranaense reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
