Spectators: 152 (Terracing: 114, Seating: 35, VIP seats: 3) Grêmio's Osvaldo Santana started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. When the match clock showed 5 minutes, the score became 0-1 when Luizão Bocanegra sped through Grêmio's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Roger Seco. Luizão Bocanegra hit a great freekick 11 minutes into the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 14th minute, Jean de Barros managed to get in a good position for a shot. A.A. Francana's supporters rose to their feet, but Jean de Barros was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Roger Seco breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a defensive mix-up in Grêmio's zone, Armando Orlando stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Roger Seco came out of the goal and Armando Orlando tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 18th minute, Osvaldinho Marquez hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Jean de Barros had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to A.A. Francana getting a freekick after 23 minutes play. Armando Orlando hit a great ball. After 28 minutes, Luizão Bocanegra made it 0-2 with a short kick to the right side. Grêmio's Roger Seco tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. After a rather tough play, A.A. Francana's João Adolfo Leite got a free kick in the 32nd minute. When Osvaldo Santana came up free with the goalie in the 34th minute, the Grêmio fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Osvaldo Santana couldn't finish the play. Wilson Cassia showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ronaldo Ramos in the 36th minute of the match. Roger Seco made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luizão Bocanegra in the 42nd minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Grêmio's zone, Luizão Bocanegra stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Roger Seco came out of the goal and Luizão Bocanegra tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 47 played minutes A.A. Francana got a freekick which was hit by Luizão Bocanegra.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Luizão Bocanegra was the one to do the kick off. 59 minutes into the game, Luizão Bocanegra recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Roger Seco. Luizão Bocanegra showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-5. Roger Seco showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luizão Bocanegra in the 63rd minute of the match. Osvaldo Santana received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 68th minute. Wilson Cassia tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ronaldo Ramos fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 70th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Wilson Cassia having to interfere. Roger Seco took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luizão Bocanegra, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Válbson Soeiro's late challenge caught a Grêmio's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Válbson Soeiro helped the player get up and apologised. In the 76th match minute, A.A. Francana was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Válbson Soeiro to maneuver through the defense. Roger Seco showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luizão Bocanegra, who was totally free with the ball in the 82nd minute. Roger Seco made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luizão Bocanegra in the 85th minute of play. Ronaldo Ramos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 91st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 96th minute, Luizão Bocanegra fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post.
