Spectators: 153 (Terracing: 115, Seating: 35, VIP seats: 3) Cactos's Diamantino Santos started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 4th match minute, Cactos was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gugu Montenegro to maneuver through the defense. After a rather tough play, ATHLETICO PRaiano's Carlos Eduardo Lara got a free kick in the 8th minute. After having played for 9 minutes, Diamantino Santos managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Cactos's supporters crossed their fingers, but Diamantino Santos was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 11th match minute, ATHLETICO PRaiano was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Patrick Quintal to maneuver through the defense. ATHLETICO PRaiano's Miguel Pereira played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Amílton Paulista in the 13th minute of play. A collision led to ATHLETICO PRaiano getting a freekick after 14 minutes play. Edvaldo Coelho hit a great ball. After a rather tough play, ATHLETICO PRaiano's Edvaldo Coelho got a free kick in the 25th minute. In the 26th minute, Diamantino Santos got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Miguel Pereira showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Vicente Bittencourt, who was totally free with the ball in the 30th minute. 31 minutes had been played when some careless play by ATHLETICO PRaiano's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Diamantino Santos was slow to take the kick. During this time Cactos's players had a chance to rest. Cactos's Aírton Leite was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Miguel Pereira in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Aírton Leite didn't miss a given chance and shot in short distance 1-0 via right post in the game's 31st minute. Cactos's supporters showed their exhuberating excitement! After 35 played minutes Cactos got a freekick which was hit by Adilson Carioca. After a rather tough play, ATHLETICO PRaiano's Silvinho Amorim got a free kick in the 40th minute. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Miguel Pereira took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Geovanni Schmidt, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. ATHLETICO PRaiano's Miguel Pereira played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Amílton Paulista in the 64th minute of play. Cactos's Aírton Leite suffered a sore thigh after 72 minutes and couldn't finish the game. After 72 minutes, Carlos Eduardo Lara mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the ATHLETICO PRaiano and the Cactos players grew even worse after the yellow card. Cactos made a substitution. Roger Vander replaced Aírton Leite. In the 73rd minute, Carlos Eduardo Lara hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field.
