Baltazar de Castro hit a great freekick 2 minutes into the match. After 5 played minutes Cruzeiro MZC -DMZ- got a freekick which was hit by Cícero Veiga. With a little luck, Cruzeiro MZC -DMZ-'s Umberto Félix got control of the ball when Eurico Félix tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 17th minute, Natanael Mendes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Cruzeiro MZC -DMZ-'s Manfredo Cabral took a good shot, in the 18th minute, which hit the crossbar above Virgílio da Rocha's head, and flew over the goal. Grêmio Bulls's manager was very thankful on the sidelines as his team had managed to keep the ball out of the net after some serious pressure by Cruzeiro MZC -DMZ-. Cruzeiro MZC -DMZ-'s Umberto Félix played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Enéas Madureira in the 20th minute of play. Cícero Veiga fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Virgílio da Rocha having to interfere. Umberto Félix was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Enéas Madureira showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-0 in the 30 minute of play. Wanderson Cruz's late challenge caught a Grêmio Bulls's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Wanderson Cruz helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Cruzeiro MZC -DMZ- getting a freekick after 34 minutes play. Wanderson Cruz hit a great ball. In the 35th minute, Belmiro de Sena fired a really elegant long shot, but Umberto Félix threw himself and managed to get hold of the ball just in front of the right post. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Eurico Félix to make the kick off. Umberto Félix made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-1. Virgílio da Rocha showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Haroldo Esteves, who was totally free with the ball in the 62nd minute. Eurico Félix fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 64th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Umberto Félix having to interfere. Baltazar de Castro hit a great freekick 73 minutes into the match. Dida Quintal kicked well hit freekick during the 75th minute of the match. In the 76th minute, Cristiano de Moraes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 81 minutes into the game, Haroldo Esteves cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-2. Virgílio da Rocha was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The supporters of Cruzeiro MZC -DMZ- booed when Grêmio Bulls was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 83 match minutes in a wonderful position. Belmiro de Sena didn't get a good kick on the ball. During the 85th minute of the match Baltazar de Castro completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Baltazar de Castro a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. After 85 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Grêmio Bulls! The goalkeeper, Virgílio da Rocha, was totally fooled by Cruzeiro MZC -DMZ-'s Manfredo Cabral, who 87 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. 90 minutes into the game, Haroldo Esteves was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player.
