Clóvis Sergipano made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Pedro Luís Saldanha in the 9th minute of play. Clóvis Sergipano showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Anselmo Sampaio, who was totally free with the ball in the 13th minute. Willian Carioca shot from long distance in the 25th minute, but Ruy Arce was prepared and stopped the ball at the left post. Mundial EC's Ruy Arce played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Zeca Carneiro in the 27th minute of play. Goblins F.C.'s Geovânio Lara got a good chance for a goal in the 30th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Ruy Arce made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dênis de Almeida in the 31st minute of play. After having played for 35 minutes, Zeca Carneiro managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Goblins F.C.'s supporters crossed their fingers, but Zeca Carneiro was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 36 played minutes Mundial EC got a freekick which was hit by Mauro Senna. Zé Pedro Mendes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ruy Arce having to interfere. Ruy Arce took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dênis de Almeida, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.

Pedro Luís Saldanha's late challenge caught a Goblins F.C.'s player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Pedro Luís Saldanha helped the player get up and apologised. In the 52nd match minute, Mundial EC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Pedro Luís Saldanha to maneuver through the defense. A collision led to Mundial EC getting a freekick after 53 minutes play. Dalmo Leite hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dênis de Almeida in the 71st minute of play forced Mundial EC's goalkeeper Ruy Arce to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 72 minutes into the game, Mundial EC's Anselmo Sampaio nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Clóvis Sergipano made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-1. Dalmo Leite kicked well hit freekick during the 75th minute of the match. After 82 minutes, Willian Carioca mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Goblins F.C. and the Mundial EC players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Goblins F.C.'s Willian Carioca got a free kick in the 82nd minute. 83 minutes into the match, Goblins F.C.'s goalkeeper Clóvis Sergipano had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Chicão de Brito. When Pedro Luís Saldanha was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 87 minutes had been played.
