If Ronaldo Pirani had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 9th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dário Leme in the 12th minute of play forced Palestra do Interior's goalkeeper Fernando Pras to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Atlético Capixaba's Fernandinho França played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Perivaldo Carneiro in the 28th minute of play. Fernandinho França didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Ronaldo Pirani went, in the 29th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Nelsinho Marinho during the 33rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Nelsinho Marinho kicked well hit freekick during the 33rd minute of the match. A collision led to Palestra do Interior getting a freekick after 33 minutes play. Maurinho Matorin hit a great ball. Henrique Alvarenga came free with the goalkeeper in the 35th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Fernando Pras could save by the left post. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Edu das Neves during the 38th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Atlético Capixaba booed when Palestra do Interior was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 39 match minutes in a wonderful position. Doni Pimenta didn't get a good kick on the ball. Fernandinho França showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Perivaldo Carneiro, who was totally free with the ball in the 46th minute.
